Kevin Boles has been the host of “At the Hop”, a radio show featuring Top 40 hits from 1950-1964, since May 2005. With over 10 years of experience designing, broadcasting and keeping the “oldies” music alive, he has had the opportunity to interview many stars including: Clay Cole, Frankie Ford, Paul Petersen, Trade Martin, Judy from the original Chiffons, Spanky from the original Spanky & Our Gang, Pat Upton, Kenny Chandler, Doctor Elmo, Beverly Bremers, Dave Summerville, & Tony Butala.
His first introduction to radio came during high school when he saw an ad for airtime at WRNI 1380AM in Woonsocket, RI. His passion for Doo Wop, Rhythm & Blues, The Teenage Sound, Girl Groups, Rock & Roll, and 1950’s pop was quite different from what most kids his age were listening to and his determination to make sure these classics were heard led to the creation of his show. After 2 years at WRNI, Kevin was offered an internship at 95.9 FM WATD in Marshfield, MA. His show has been a staple at WATD ever since, airing weekly for a 5 hour segment.
Kevin is also a Master of Ceremonies for LAR Enterprises, a full service premier entertainment company that produces concerts with talented performers from the 50’s through present time. Kevin’s MC resume includes: Doo Wop Weekend, Hauppauge, NY, An Evening of Doo Wop & Rock n Roll, Southampton, NY, Doo Wop at Lead East Golden Oldies Concerts, Parsippany, NJ, A Night of Doo Wop & Rock n Roll, Foxwoods Casino, and many more.
Tune in to At the Hop live on Saturdays from 2AM to 7AM or listen to one of Kevin’s many archived shows on his website, www.kevinbolesoldiesfan.com.
